Abstract

Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) have renewed information intermediation processes in different contexts of contemporary society, in which information is important both in the continuous process of learning and for the production of bibliometric studies. However, no scientific articles were found with bibliometric studies as a source of digital information on the theme of the circus in the bases of ANPAD (2021), CAPES (2021) and SPELL (2021) that could contribute to the formation of the circus artist. Thus, this study aims to analyze, in a corpus of 380 documents, the scientific production in Portuguese available on the Circonteúdo website, through a quantitative approach, based on the theory of bibliometric laws by Lotka, Bradford and Zipf. The results of this study show the growth of productions over a period of 43 years, the main sources of production/dissemination of this information and the role of the Circonteúdo website as a mediator in the continuing education process of the circus artist beyond the formal teaching environments, thus presenting itself as a reliable and relevant source for metric studies on circus training.
