Abstract

It discusses scientific publication in open access journals, focusing on article processing charges. It aims to analyze the panorama of the collection of these charges in the scientific productions of the IF in the Northeast of Brazil, which were published in open access journals. For this, the articles indexed in the Web of Science were surveyed, to compose the research clipping, Bradford's Law was applied, which resulted in a total of 72 journal titles analyzed. The results show the concentration of articles published in open access journals that charge processing fees, being mostly edited by commercial editors, and the predominance of these in the ranking of the highest fees charged.
