Abstract

The Criteria, policy and procedures for the admission and permanence of journals in the SciELO Portugal Collection were updated in 2021 and revised in February 2023. The new version includes advances in editorial policies related to the alignment of the SciELO Program with the good communication practices of the open science research. The perspective is to reinforce the contribution of the journals in the social and scientific qualification of the research of the national nodes that are part of the network. The criteria aim to increase transparency, completeness, speed, and interoperability in research communication. This document describes the main Open Science criteria to be adopted by the journals present in the SciELO Portugal Collection, their objectives, the work carried out towards their adoption and the expected results, in terms of the adoption of these criteria, by the end of the year from 2023.
