Abstract

Exploratory and descriptive research that aims to investigate the editorial practices adopted in relation to the attribution of authorship in scientific journals of Human Sciences, indexed in the SciELO Brazil collection. Specifically, it is intended to: a) identify the criteria used for attributing authorship; b) verify if there is a limitation on the number of authors per article; and c) check the indication of definition of authorship in the instructions to authors. Data were collected on the website of each publication, in the item “Instructions to authors”. Of the 98 titles analyzed, 36 adopt recommendations to authors for the attribution of authorship, 22 define the term authorship and/or what to consider as an author and 28 limit the number of authors per article.
