Abstract

In this article, we seek to establish dialogues between writter documents, memories of the Xukuru-Kariri indians (inhabitants of Palmeira dos Índios, Semiarid of Alagoas) and the historical records that evidenced the mobility of this indigenous people for seasonal Works, due to territorial debris and expansion livestock in the region. We discussed routes to destination cities and returns to Xukuru-Kariri villages. In addition to interviews with indigenous migrants, we conducted documentar research in the collections of the Research Group on Indigenous History of Alagoas and the Museum of the Indian/Rio de Janeiro. As a theoretical reference we are based on: Silva Júnior (2013); Silva (2014); e Oliveira (1999; 2011) to discuss indigenous migrations in seasonal activities during the second half of the century XX.
