Health education in the work process of Family Health Strategy professionals: an experience report

Abstract

Introduction: The Family Health Strategy is made up of multiprofessional teams that must act in an interdisciplinary perspective, articulating their practices and knowledge in facing each identified situation to propose solutions, and to intervene in an appropriate manner to each reality. Thus, educational actions emerge as an indispensable tool to encourage self-care in users. Objective: To report the experience of nursing students from the construction of Health Education spaces, addressing the theme: the context of viral hepatitis. Methodology: Descriptive study, type of experience report. The activities were developed in a Health Center, located in the municipality of Quixeré/CE. Results: It was noticed that from the intervention it was possible to awaken a moment of reflection about health care, including in relation to the perceptions of biosafety, thus favoring the exchange and sharing of knowledge. Such activity also contributed to the construction and improvement of know-how with respect to one of its work processes, teaching-learning. Conclusions: Health Education proposes to contemplate the principles of the Unified Health System through the promotion of health and the awareness of the individual and the community in order to guarantee the subjects' autonomy.
