Abstract

Introduction: The Standard Operating Procedure is a relevant management tool to optimize the work process within the resolution perspective defined in the SUS principles. Objective: to develop a SOP to standardize the flow of materials in the warehouse of the Faculty of Dentistry of the Federal University of Pará. Texto do objetivo em inglês. Methodology: Descriptive study that proposed the creation of a light technology tool divided into three stages: theoretical deepening, elaboration and refinement. Results: The team involved in the health center’s work process collaborated with the construction of the instrument, favoring the establishment of a bond and assertiveness. The elaborated SOP constitutes subsidy for the organization of the flow with the objective of clarifying, facilitating and standardizing the use of the warehouse, promoting strategies of adequate use in the handling of the materials and the rationalization of the same, in order to take full advantage and reduce costs. Conclusions: The tool elaboration promoted the improvement of the work process in the handling of dental materials and equipment. The participation of the subjects involved strengthened the bond and co-responsibility.
