WATERS OF ORIGINS, ANCESTRAL WISDOM AND SOME POETRY

Abstract

This essay is an invitation to dive into waters of different origins of thought, that bathe different ways of being and practicing the worlds, taking the arts of the scene as a space capable of receiving the tensions and contradictions of this challenge. The text presentes the writer's enchantment with Bantu and Nagô cultures, offering to the subjectivities readers a narrative which does not deny poetic language. Ironically, it is the result of research that began during a critical reading exercise of the work Theogony, by Hesiod, a greek poet of the 8th century BC. The notes about time, humanity and the stories through which we create the representations of many deities became objects of the desire to know, discuss and try out the sacred waters of different times and worlds, such as those of the Ocean, Titan who hissed among the yard of Gaia or those of the swampy world found by Obatalá. We are interested in studying the ways of thinking-doing of a corporeality that drinks from these worldviews to create scene arts. Therefore, the approach used to design the narratives of this essay proposes a pluriversal mytho-poetic scenario and the actualization - or reinvention - of bodies in their creative processes. We are also interested in discussing the artifices that reserve for the waters of the origins of African mytho-poetics, more darkness than textualities; more erasures than shadows; more denials than reparations; more prescribed silences than authorized voices; and more ship ballast than granted titles.
