We depart from the Wagnerian notion of unspeakable to examine Ives Klein’s propositions as the immaterial pictorial sensibility, theatre of Void, and Particular Theatre, and Gordon Craig’s projects as uber-marionette and Drama for Fools. The hypothesis suggested is that, with their imaginary works both have operated in the field in which the unspeakable become an artwork, and then reverberate in the procedures of artists from the contemporary scene.
