Relatos de endomulheres na rede: bioidentidade, agência e sofrimento social/ Reports from endowomen on the web: bioidentity, agency and social suffering

Resumo

Esta pesquisa visa compreender a agência e as formas de mobilização política de mulheres com endometriose, uma doença crônica que afeta somente mulheres em idade reprodutiva e cujas causas não são plenamente conhecidas pela medicina. O fato da doença ser pouco conhecida tanto pela medicina quanto pela sociedade em geral e causar muito sofrimento tem motivado muitas mulheres diagnosticadas com a doença a se reunir em grupos de apoio mútuo e a criar sites e blogs que visam dar informações, compartilhar experiências e dar mais visibilidade social à doença e às mulheres com endometriose, enfatizando o reconhecimento dos seus direitos. Neste artigo, analiso relatos escritos por mulheres com endometriose publicados em um desses blogs dedicados ao tema. Compreendo esses relatos como uma forma de compartilhar informações e experiências que podem ter um caráter terapêutico e colaborar na constituição das bioidentidades e biossocialidades, pois nesses espaços elas se autodenominam endomulheres. Esses relatos também podem ser entendidos como uma ação política que visa através de seus testemunhos “comprovar” a doença e o sofrimento dessas mulheres, dando visibilidade e contribuindo na luta por reconhecimento e legitimidade, conformando uma estratégia de biolegitimidade.

ABSTRACT

This work aims to understand the agency and the political mobilization forms of women with endometriosis, a chronic disease that affects only women in reproductive age and whose causes medicine doesn't know entirely. The fact that the disease is poorly understood by both medicine and society in general and causes much suffering has motivated many women diagnosed with it to gather in groups for mutual support and create websites and blogs aimed at providing information, share experiences and give more social visibility to the disease and women with endometriosis, emphasizing the recognition of their rights. In this article I analyze reports written by women with endometriosis published in one of the blogs dedicated to the topic. I understand these stories as a way to share information and experiences that may have a therapeutic character and collaborate in the creation of biosocial identities and biosocialities because in these spaces they call themselves endowomen. These reports can also be understood as a political action which aims through their testimonies "prove" the sickness and suffering of these women, giving visibility and contributing to the struggle for recognition and legitimacy, shaping a biolegitimacy strategy.
