Understanding school education from the study by Martin Buber

It is a text developed from the perception of Parreira, supported by the Buberian philosophy, with emphasis on the factor that man is constituted from a relational duality, either by encounter or by experience, assuming, respectively, one of the I-Thou or I-That. The Self does not define itself and does not end in itself, but is constituted in the relationship with the Self, by genuinely relating to its fellow man, under his recognition as being full of potential and experience, under the interest in knowing the self. another as a human being, in a process of mutual contributions. The relation with the Self is based on observation and objectivity, in which the self relates to things, but this self also takes human beings as things, especially in distant, rigid and protocolary relationships. Given this, the author ponders on the unfolding of such issues in education and problematizes the role of school and educators in the construction of a new educational perspective.
