Abstract

In this paper, based on the theoretical perspective of Discourse Analysis, we analyze how a saying about hymenoplasty surgery and the erotic product “Artificial Virginity Hymen” circulates in different materialities. We aim to reflect on how virginity is said/signified, being affiliated not only to patriarchal sayings but also to the control of the body and sexuality of women.
