Abstract

The aim of this article is to map literature written by women in French Guiana, situating it within a broader literary production. To do this, we will try to problematise the visibility of Guyanese authors in the context of French-language writing in their territory, taking into account the way in which female authorship appears in literary compendiums. We also intend to analyse the emergence of a consolidated space for female and Guyanese literary writing from the end of the 20th century onwards, based on Antonio Candido's (2017) discussions on literature as a system.
