O ENSINO DE FILOSOFIA NOS PRIMÓRDIOS DAS UNIVERSIDADES

Abstract

In this paper, I present the context of the teaching of philosophy at the beginning of universities, which raised in medieval Europe since the twelfth century. Firstly, I introduce a brief description of the rise of universities, followed by a description of the methods of institutional organization and teaching, for then to display the main influences on the philosophical discussions which had a place in this time. At this last part, I show up the influences by the rediscovered works of Aristotle end the Arabic philosophy, and the Aquina's synthesis of these two traditions.
