What is the place of emotions in Linguistics of the XX century?

Abstract

What is the place taken by linguistics of the XX century to emotions? I answer it in general terms: a relatively minimal place. This space was “minimal” due to the problem of the emoions expression did not mean to be a central concern to the majority of the linguists from the last century. But it was relatively “mininal” because when we examine more carefully the scenario of the linguistics at the time, we find out that the mass of facts about the emotions, which are there to be a central part of the specialized literature, is noticeable. Considering the amount of this mass, we also find out that it is possible to present in some few pages the results of our work. The list of these facts we are going to present here is, therefore, panoramic. Since we have hesitated to work with a historic or a typological approach, we finally decided to a joint solution.
