O labor filológico e as humanidades digitais

Abstract

To think about doing the philology from the perspective of digital humanities is, certainly, to break paradigms of methods and concepts, since the ‘text’ gains new uses, handlings and interventions by the readers/philologists. Thus, the definitions expand, giving to a new object of investigation, who Paixão Sousa (2009) defines as ‘digital text’. Assuming that, we aim, in this work, to bring to light theoretical discussions, having as a starting point, scientific works that deal with the intersection of the philological field with digital tools, thus discussing the philology approach (SPINA, 1977; GUMBRECHT, 2003; XIMENES; 2013; FERREIRA, 2016) from the perspective of digital humanities (PAIXÃO DE SOUSA, 2014). Since the text, as a social product and object of investigation of philological praxis, interacts and suffers pressure with social changes, above all, changes of a technological nature, as these it interfere directly in the production, storage and distribution of texts, presuming to the philologist, new supports and different ways of handling and processing of writing. Thus, we carried out searches, by keywords means, on sites that carry in their database, works of scientific nature that discuss the theme here explored. We chose Capes Periodicals Portal and Google Scholar, for the reliability of the information stored. In the search, for reasons of space of this discussion, we chose three recently works published in Portuguese.  The work analysis, we emphasize that the intersection of the philological work with digital humanities is a fertile investigative field, with positive contributions for the study of language and society. As well we point discussions that deal with the impact of current technological tools on the textual materiality from the perspective of digital humanities. Finally, we highlight the productive discussion about the philology doing from the view of digital humanities as it broadens the debate about access, the preservation and handling of documents that keep social and linguistic histories.
