This article aims to analyze how the metadiscursive strategies present in the song “Cadê teu suín?”, released in the early 2000s by the Brazilian band Los Hermanos, act in the construction of a strong critique of the massification of the music industry. As for the theoretical foundation, we also used the concepts of imitation by subversion and enunciation scenes (MAINGUENEAU, 1989, 1988, 2005) which, applied to the phonogram of the aforementioned song, yielded the following results: a) the scenography mobilized is dialogic and composed by four parts: accusation of the label, defense of the singer-songwriter (band), reply and rejoinder; b) the criticism of the cultural industry is built, in the first part of the song, by the subversive imitation of the rules imposed by the record company and by the coincidence of the role of singer-songwriter (band), raised by the generic scene of the song, with that of “accused” of insurgency against the phonographic market; c) the revenge of the singer-songwriter, staged in the dialogue as a critique of marketing rules, shows that even if he complies with them out of necessity, this will not make him lose his power of creativity and artistic autonomy.
