“A senhora tá totalmente descontrolada”: as avaliações da impolidez no caso de machismo na CPI da Pandemia no Brasil

Abstract

This article aims to analyze the variation of evaluations of impoliteness in the case of an interaction at the Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry (CPI) of Pandemic in Brazil, and to show which factors affect the different reactions to the same case. We draw on discursive studies of impoliteness to understand how different interactants evaluate a situation that involves sexism. Therefore, we analyzed discursively the CPI session itself and some comments on a YouTube post about the case. The results show the different evaluations are generated by active comprehension processes that either emphasize or silence historical discourses that illegitimate women's participation in spaces of power.
