ABSTRACT
Considering that humor is present in human daily life in the midst of different types of languages and discursive genres and that, in social networks, the popularization of memes constitutes an important cultural diffuser, in this work, we analyze the ethóicas projections in memes produced by the deaf community, based on the methodological bias of French Discourse Analysis, supported by Maingueneau (2008, 2020). Motivated by the interest in investigating the production of discourses rooted in and by the deaf community, four Internet memes constitute material for analysis. The result of the investigations shows the performance of heterogeneous forces that pervade the social relations in and of the community, and are permeated by them. These forces mirror in the discursive materialities certain constitutions ethé on two levels: (1) in the sense of crystallizing the ideas of a cultural identity; (2) in the sense of configuring community relations in a more fragile, hybrid and subversive way.
