DECOLONIAL REFLECTIONS ON THE PLACE OF ORALITY IN PUBLICATIONS ABOUT #LANGUAGEVICE ON INSTAGRAM

This work is contextualized in the area of Applied Linguistics (Moita Lopes, 2006, 2008; Fabrício, 2006; Zozzoli, 2020; Autor 2, 2022) and Implicated (Autor 2, 2023, 2024) and discusses orality (Marcuschi, 2001; Geraldi, 2000, 2009 and 2016; Fávero; Andrade; Aquino, 2011; Zozzoli, 2009; Bentes, 2011; Autor 3, 2019; Autor 3, 2021; Leite, 2011; and Crescitelli; Reis, 2011) from the perspective of decolonial studies (Quintero et al., 2019; Quijano, 2005; Maldonado-Torres, 2018; Ortiz Ocaña et al., 2021; Rodrigues; Nolascio, 2021; Silva Jr.; Lent, 2022; Ballestrin, 2013; Castro-Gómez, 2005; Fabrício, 2017; Gualhano; Conegondes; Sampaio, 2016). The objective is to verify and analyze, from a decolonial perspective, certain discourses on the social network Instagram regarding orality, and from that, to reflect on and problematize the place that orality occupies in these discourses. This is a qualitative research (Flick, 2004; Chizzotti, 2003) with a virtual ethnography approach (Gutierrez, 2009). The hashtag #viciodelinguagem was searched on Instagram's search engine, selecting posts that met the criteria of addressing orality, belonging to studygrams and being published from 2020 onwards. After collection and selection, the analytical procedure was carried out from a decolonial perspective. It was found that orality is taken up again in discourses on good writing versus language defects, positioning orality with a negative value. These discourses resonate with and mobilize colonialist discourses through pairs such as orality/writing and primitive/civilized.
