Abstract

Grounded in the Dialogic Theory of Language, this article employs a descriptive-qualitative methodology (Nunes; Nascimento; Alencar, 2016; Lessa de Oliveira, 2008) to analyze Libras-based stickers exchanged in the “Deaf Community” WhatsApp group. The investigation is organized into two analytical categories: (1) political viewpoints on electoral candidates expressed through Libras stickers and (2) the dialogic relation represented by the “I love you” Libras sticker. Data were generated in October 2024, during the second round of the municipal elections in Campina Grande, Brazil. The findings reveal how Deaf participants position themselves within political debates by using multimodal resources to construct meaning, express ideological stances, and re-signify digital and corporeal communicative practices in virtual environments.
