OS CAMINHOS DA PSICOLOGIA COMUNITÁRIA E DA EDUCAÇÃO POPULAR COMO FORMAS DE RESISTÊNCIA NA LUTA PELA CONQUISTA DA TERRA DO ACAMPAMENTO VIVA DEUS DE IMPERATRIZ/MA.

Abstract

The Viva Deus Community Camp is located within the Amazon Biome reserve and originated from the guidance of the Rural Workers' Union (STTR) of Imperatriz, with the goal of settling 110 families on the former Fazenda El Dourado, expropriated by INCRA for agrarian reform purposes in mid-2003. The farm is situated 45 km from the city of Imperatriz, on Padre Josimo Road, also known as the "Rice Road." The aim is to report how Community Psychology, in partnership with Popular Education, has contributed to resistance and strategy development in the struggle for land conquest in the community. Our foundation includes Martin-Baró’s perspective on Community Psychology (1985, 1998), Paulo Freire’s Popular Education (1967, 1987, 1996), Arroyo’s Life Trajectories (2004), and Bogo’s Mysticism (2008). The methodology involves the Circle of Culture, Freire’s Generative Word, Barroso’s problem-situation-challenge approach (2015), as well as qualitative research and action research according to Minayo (2001). The Viva Deus Community has resisted for 21 years seeking land legalization and, through Paulo Freire’s Popular Education, has created means through dialogue and affection to overcome problems and challenges that prevent residents from understanding themselves and each other as companions in the struggle, promoting a less conflictual social relationship among them. Despite emotional instability, community members have become stronger and more resilient in the face of governmental and industrial oppression, enhancing their knowledge, self-recognition, and individual and collective autonomy.
