Abstract

ABSTRACT: Given the undeniable presence of gambling and fixed-odds betting in the virtual world, this study aims to analyze the issue through the lens of Consumer Law. The legal attention to this topic is relatively recent. Legislative developments regarding the matter have increased focus on the issue. In this sense, this work seeks to demonstrate that consumer rights, concerning the realm of virtual fixed-odds betting, must be upheld to provide the necessary protection for this vulnerable audience. To gain a broader perspective on the subject and its complexity, a bibliographic procedure was employed, including consultations of relevant works, legislations, and scientific articles.
